Video Scholar: Writing, Creativity, and Career
I could not find a group that was systematically going though the material so I created the FB group — Video Scholar: Writing, Creativity, and Career, which reflects on the videos in The Compleat Writer (http//wwww.thecompleatwriter.com). I started with the Story Puzzle because I start at the beginnings. That was the first video series.
I will eventually include other materials recommended by Dave Farland. I have heard people discussing the free online Writers of the Future course. Although I am not a sci-fi writer, the principles are the same.
The best way to absorb an assignment is watch, reflect, and write down your impressions. You will be amazed at what point really hits home.
I encourage people to actually POST their reflections regarding the videos. A comment on another’s writing is just a comment. I encourage writers to watch each video and post regarding each video.
If you feel the need to bring a issue/question up for discussion, it should be done in The Apex Writers’ Group in Facebook. I am not the expert. Dave Farland and some others in the group are, indeed, experts.
The Video Scholar is simply a place to reflect and POST your thoughts regarding the videos. It DOES NOT REPLACE any aspect of the Apex Writers’ Group, where I feel we as a collective body draw our identity and strength.
