Set the Mood with Instruments!
A bit of an odd exercise, and might not help in the end, but I think it’s fun. What instruments or instrument would you say captures the mood of your project? I’d say my project is a glockenspiel (think small, metal xylophone)/violin combo. I often make playlists of music for my stories and those two instruments seemed to come up a lot. Eerie and striking but with some playfulness to it.
