Launch Timelines?
I’m on the Apex call now and realising my launch plan is… a little hasty.
Is David recommending that you finish the book and THEN spend six months promoting to build pre-sales? Reviews are key, so is a paperback or something available during this period so that bloggers and reviews can review, or do we make them wait until launch day?
What would a ‘start writing’ to ‘3 months after publication’ timeline look like?
Bonus question: how do you juggle that while writing other books, or managing a second pen name, when you need consistent releases to support your writing income? My process in the past has been ‘get it out ASAP’, and I definitely want to break free of this trap, but I’m scared my income will drop too much if I have a year-odd gap between books (I’d normally publish a 4-6 book series per year).
