Author Buzz is an interesting platform. As I recall, three book marketers from major publishers got together and began a company dedicated to marketing books. They advertise to individuals who get their weekly releases, but also to some 70,000 book clubs in the US that account for about 1/2 of all book sales on the long-tail end of your book. I did a release with them several years ago, and I suspect that the amount of money I invested into the book allowed me to at least break even, but the long-term boost from book sales was great.
