Website advice
I’m a newborn baby author with only short stories finished and no publications (aside from one poem published in my local lit magazine when I was 14). I want to make an author website for when I do become more prolific. Is it too early to have one? What should I have on the website? I have a mockup done (made the concept in Photoshop).

It’s never too early to get your author website up! Do it now and add more and more content to it as time goes on.
The one piece of feedback I have is you probably want a newsletter signup box someplace prominent. If there’s one thing I’ve picked up from this group since joining it’s the importance of “The List.” And hell, even if you don’t advertise it, you’ll likely get people signing up. I have a “sign up for my newsletter” box just sitting in the sidebar of my site and people just… sign up.
It’s weird, but useful. 🙂

Never too early! I’d be happy to help. I recommend WordPress. 3 pages free at wordpress.com, or is it .org? I’d start there, learn the ropes. Then get a domain name and host.
