Looking for an accountability group?
Posted by Tricia Geib on February 18, 2020 at 6:24 pmHi, all! I was slow to use the Facebook Group, and all of the accountability groups on there seem to have filled up. Is there anyone else who might want to join one?

Hi Tricia, I found myself in the same boat. I’d love to start a group!
-
Hi!
What sort of process are you guys looking for?
-
Hey Stephannie,
Haven’t heard back from Tricia so I can’t speak for her. But I joined Apex hoping to form a community of writer friends and a group to exchange pieces/give and receive feedback. However, I know some people would prefer to just have someone to make sure words are getting on pages and I’m happy to do that as well. Really, just making connections with like minded people in a way where we can support each other as needed on our journey is the ultimate goal 🙂 Let me know if you want to connect!

Hey, sorry NJ! Busy week here at home, and I’ve been MIA on the Apex sites. I’d love to form a group with you guys, and I’m totally open to format ideas.

I just joined as well. If there is still an accountability group, I wouldn’t mind joining.

Argh! What a week. This is why I need an accountability group! 🙂
Let’s make a plan.
1. Where/how would you like to meet or report on our weekly goals? Here? New FB group? Group text? Discord? Shared spreadsheet?
2. How often? Once a week? Biweekly? Daily? My writing goal right now is to write one submittable short story per week. That will mean several days of writing plus several days of prep, revision, researching markets, etc.
Let me know what you guys think. And apologies for being so slow.
-
I haven’t been added to the FB group yet. My mic is broken so I can’t do Discord either. I can do any of the other options. I have a short story I’m working on as well, but my main goal is to write 2,000 words daily.
I’ll follow whatever format the group chooses.

I think theres a text only option for discord? But at any rate, sounds like a new FB group or a spreadsheet/google docs type thing might work if you want to have a reading/feedback option?
My goal is to just get in the habit of writing daily (not only when the muses dictate) and to get a bunch of shorter things finished. I want to get an author site up and running that I can plug the shorter pieces into so it would actually have content. But ultimately, continuing on and finishing up my novel is the main goal.

hi! sorry, just able to log back in. Got back last week from my last workshop for awhile, so now getting caught up with everything.
I’m one of the people doing Dean’s Great Challenge (short story per week) so until I ‘win’ that in mid late April, I’m very very highly motivated re: writing.
What I’m not keeping up with as much as I’d like is submissions and prepping for publication (and then publishing) those I’m going to be self publishing.
Anyone interested in that aspect?
-
I’m not so much interested in the self-publishing aspect, but if you want feedback, I can help. I still haven’t been added to the FB group yet. How did everyone else join their FB group?
-
try davefarland1@gmail.com if you’re in this group but not the facebook one
Their apex address seems to glitch a lot – I dug deep through facebook for that when apex didn’t work and got a reply
Hope I’m not breaking any rules by sharing that but let me know if i am!
-
Hi, Stephannie, yes, I’m definitely hoping to get on a good submission and/or self-publishing schedule.

Hey, guys, I’m going to start a FB group and send you all invites. I thought it might be better to keep our Apex activities consolidated in one place. 🙂
Sooo so sorry for how slow this has been. The world is incredibly distracting right now. *Pained grin emoji*
EDIT: or look for Apex Accountability group because I’ve been off FB for so long that I can’t seem to figure out how to invite you. Blargh.
