Hello Everyone!
My first SF novel will be released in just under a week, on March 17th, 2020. I’ve made it to the bestseller list twice with my fantasy series so I’m excited to see how the SF genre compares. Appreciate any shares, purchases, reviews . . . and questions!
Sadia has been betrayed.
Get in. Get the data threads. Get out. It was a standard job. But when Sadia arrives, she finds her contact dead and the only ones who could be responsible are from her own faction. Unable to trust anyone, she goes looking for answers.
When she witnesses another unjust death, something inside her awakens. A power takes control of her body and in front of millions of witnesses, Sadia brings the dead man back to life. Suddenly, she’s the most sought after woman in Novus City. And while some factions want to make her a martyr, others want to dissect her. Or worse.
Hunted by every faction, every corporation, and every authority, Sadia flees. If she can escape the city, she may survive long enough to learn the secrets of her past. If she fails, instead of giving life back, her power will be used to take it away. She will become the instrument of annihilation, and no one will be left alive to remember Hollowfall.

Hi Michael, did you write the blurb or was that your publishing company? Asking because if you control it, and you’re aiming for an audience beyond players of the Master of Wills game who already know the context (none of the below matters if you aren’t):
– I can’t really tell the genre from the blurb. The first paragraph sounds Cyberpunk, the second sounds Urban Fantasy. The cover is ambiguous between the two. The reviews make it seem Cyberpunk, but a reader has to get that far…
– Paragraph 1: I can’t connect the hook to the eventual action. How do the betrayals/deaths relate to a power taking her over and raising the dead and making her suddenly important… other than chance? Also, betrayal is a pretty common hook, and not overly effective… the resurrection might be a stronger one.
– Paragraph 2: “unjust death” is pretty unspecific. Game term? I have no idea what’s happening. Also, she sounds like a victim (she didn’t do anything… the power that took control did the thing and is the target), and I can’t figure out why she’s important (some reason why only she can be a vessel of this power?). Also, isn’t she the least bit concerned she’s being used as a pawn by this power?
– Paragraph 3 is good, although it’s a bit of a leap from Resurrection to Instrument of Annihilation.
The title is awesome though.
