Hey everyone,
My long-time hosting provider just sent me an invoice that’s double per year than what I’ve been paying for the last 12-13 years. So, what are you recommended hosting providers, and what service do they include and how much do they cost?
Ideally, I’m looking for:
* domain name
* (opt.) web space for a WordPress site
* (opt.) WordPress goodies, like anti spam/bots etc.Cheers,

Avoid the “All-in-one solutions providers”. They’ve been scams for nearly 30 years.
But your definition of “expensive” may not be the same as mine.
Register.com can get you a URL for between $30-$80 per year (discount for longer terms). It might also charge $10-$25 per year for other services – but to me that’s cheap… and I have 5 domains names.
Wordpress is usually free. Themes and extras can cost money – but rarely too much.
Other expenses you could incur is labor costs if you want someone else to set things up for you instead of doing it yourself. That’s like car mechanics. You can aways do it yourself for free (except time) – but do you want to? Or is spending money a better option.

Well I really just need the domains. Everything else I can host on Azure ✌️

I use namecheap for domain names and have never had a problem with them. They now offer hosting as well but I do not host with them, nor do I recommend it if you purchase domains there.

I moved my domain to namecheap yesterday and it went super smooth and it’s really a lot cheaper than my previous provider. Thanks again!

I’ve been with Dreamhost for awhile and like it.

How user-friendly is BlueHost? I use GoDaddy at work and loathe it, and I want to use a different hosting site for my own things.

I’m using LyricalHost and they are really, really good. The pricing is on par with others I’ve used, but the service is spot on. Their tech department is really on point when it comes to security and they will bend over backwards to make sure your theme is working, your images load fast, and any other niggly, non-host related stuff is taken care of.

Regarding Blue Host, I don’t consider myself too technically skilled, but even I found the interface easy to work with. If you have questions, their help team is available quickly via chat. Their team is based in India, so if you want them to look at your site, you have to make sure you don’t have any country blockers running that will stop them from seeing your site. I hope that helps!

Domains should not cost more than $10-$15 a year. Name.com is my go-to.
None of the cheapo hosts are good. You just need to hope you’ll get lucky and not get randomly dropped into a server that they smash you into that has a bunch of resource hogs. The cheapest good host I know of is Lightning Base, which starts at $9.99/mo I believe.

Just to put this out there, you can also buy your domain names from google, often for 12 dollars a year, and you get your email (yourname@yourdomainname.com) in the gmail engine instead of some outdated squirrelmail and such.
As far as hosting goes, when I was looking around it seems siteground is a very good reliable one. Dreamhost is another one that pops up, but there are tons. I would avoid hostgator, bluehost, and godaddy.
