Stephannie likely has a grasp on most of your animal questions, but wanted to chime in as another resource for critter questions. I’ve got my Bachelor’s in Animal Science (was pre-vet, but fate didn’t want me going that direction) and have worked everywhere from animal rescue and rehabilitation to handling military working dogs and several breeding and training operations across several species of animals. I grew up with birds, currently have more animals than a sane person ought to, and study classical horsemanship.
I write fantasy and spent my best procrastination breaks contemplating how fictional creatures would function and behave based on what I know of the animals they are based off of (I could go on for days about centaurs 😛 ).
