I found it very interesting to listen to someone at his level – very high up, in fact in the industry as a whole. As chairman of Lionsgate, he’s really got a lot of ‘greenlighting’ power. He was very knowledgeable and well-spoken. For me, the biggest tip was that he answered ‘how to get an agent’ with ‘how to find the right producer’. He said to watch shows and see who produces the shows you like. Then tenaciously go after that producing team. So this is a different POV than a lot of online advice about selling tv. I think his advice rings true.
