  Insight on the Greenlighting Analysis – APEX talk Dec 8th by Traci Hainsworth

  I rarely fangirl about anything to do with Admin or $$ but Traci’s system and insight blew me away! I am not in a position to take her course (sadly) but I can see it would be amazing. Why?

  I’ve spoken to about twenty or twenty-five producers in the last six months – during the pitching of my feature “Lights, Camera, Paranormal Action!” [see my website for more info- http://www.catscreenwriting.com -under the menu entry for it.] Most of the producers (& their development people) that I talked to have only a vague understanding of what is going to make them money. <– I know this sounds terrible, but it is true. One guy asked me for a contained script because he and his producing team did VERY well with one. So they replicate the last success blindly. Many of mine were looking for horror films because, horror is more or less a constant seller (and, to be honest, I met them through the Frontieres Film Market which is for dark and horror films). Several liked the script, found it a fun concept, etc but no one has optioned it yet. I feel like they really do not analyze the way that Traci does. I can now understand a lot about the success of her producing bosses.
