Background- It’s a futuristic world where hand to hand combat is most effective. Knives (if found) are your best defense. Chemical warfare has created overpopulated megacities were the government controls everything. The military is the law and used to enforce government rules.
MC has military background (either he was a BRAT or served shortly)
