THE SUN POURED DOWN.
Red sunlight stained the light blue water of the Lake of Life and Death. The light reflected off of small waves which lapped on hundreds of canoes. Thousands had come and waited in silence for what the Sun King had to say. The sun was falling in the sky, and it was almost time for him to speak. His word was the word of God, The God who lived in the Sun.
Soon the sun would return to its place high in the sky and the red light would fade to a light shade of yellow. Soon the world would be right again.
Ezisuna Basteen stood at a place of honor behind his father; the sun King. Only the most senior Dragoor stood on the golden Dias with Ezi and his father; luckily bastard children were not allowed on the dias. He made the ultimate sacrifice before he went to see Luhrendan and he made that sacrifice for us. He did not trust The God of Decay. He holds out for us, and we hold out for him. The King of the Skies sustains us and we sustain him. He has sacrificed so much for us, and we must sacrifice for him. Thus is the agreement between man and God. Thus is our own promise and the bond between man and god shall not be broken,” The Sun King said, gesturing towards a group of shackled and unkempt men.
His staff guided us and his love protected us. In his time of need, we must give him life, like he has given all men life,” The Sun King turned to the bright red Sun and stared directly into it. He raised his arms and his robes fell away revealing glowing red tattoos covering his torso.
“Some here today would see the lasting lull as a sign that he is no longer sheltering us, a sign that he can no longer hold out,” red light surrounded Ezi’s father almost entirely. Ezi
