Wonderful idea! I love it!
I’m using computer programs to create my maps but only after first using graph paper to lay. Out. Basic distances and such. I hope to later take the time to sketch out then inks in my own map by hand.
One of my first jobs as an electronic technician was not as an ET at all. I drew electronic diagrams. Layers of vellum and lots of wonderful graphite pencils and gray rubber erasers. I was in tech heaven LOL.
That’s the same time I fell in love with D&D. Drawing dense maps and building wildly creative fantasy characters and writing their stories really reminded me of my deep desire to write.
Anyway. I possess a love of calligraphy as well. Collecting pens and paper, even making my own paper, is a hobby (an expensive hobby) of mine.
And so cartography falls right in there. I am new to it but I learn fast.
